BEFORE THE CONSULTATION
BEFORE THE CONSULTATION
First, try to define what you don't like about your ears and how you would like them to be.
Try doing some tests in front of the mirror by bending the ear backwards. That is roughly how you could look after surgery.
BEFORE THE PROCEDURE
BEFORE THE PROCEDURE
The preparation is very simple: you have to take some blood tests and an electrocardiogram.
THE SURGERY
THE SURGERY
The procedure for prominent ears offers much flexibility in terms of anesthesia: it ranges from general to pure local.
I want you to understand this operation changes the protrusion of the ear cartilage and, sometimes, the earlobe. It does not change its actual size. The scar on the back of the ear is not visible.
It is the only cosmetic surgery procedure that can also be performed during adolescence or childhood.
AFTER THE PROCEDURE
AFTER THE PROCEDURE
You will have a head dressing for the first 24-48 hours following the operation. After that you will be wearing an elastic band 24 hours a day for the first week.
After the first week, I will ask you to continue using the elastic band for another 4-5 weeks but only when you sleep.
The stitches will be removed after 1 or 2 weeks. You are allowed to shower after 48 hours.
